About Me

Growing up in Fargo, North Dakota warm days riding my bike over countless miles of flat, open road occupied much of my summers while reading and attending NDSU Bison sport functions made for exciting fall and winter months.

However, life, it appears, had much more in store for me.
After moving to Minneapolis to attend the University of Minnesota I was fortunate enough to discover a passion for teaching, hiking and rock climbing which is still a part of who I am to this very day. When I began my teaching carrier in Washington State, as a middle school science teacher, I also discovered a zeal for sailing, backpacking and the sciences.

Now that I live and work teaching primary aged students in Norway, a country steeped in traditional skills and the outdoor life, I have found even more interests and skills to learn and experiment with.  In addition to being a life learner, a teacher and a backpacker I have also begun my training as a cook, blacksmith, woodcarver, linguist, toy maker, story teller, traveler and most importantly of all… a husband to my wonderful and supportive wife.   My wife and I have been married for just over a year and we are very pleased to announce to our family, friends and now you, that our family will be growing by one this November with the arrival of our first child!
